Israeli media: The strategic alliance with Washington is important, but its costs are painful
Israeli media are talking about the recent Russian operation in Ukraine, and believe that the security interests with the Russians are not the strategic center of gravity for "Israel".

Military affairs commentator in the Israeli newspaper "Maariv" Alon Ben-David said that "the game is over in Ukraine, and with all sympathy, its fate has been settled," adding: "With all due respect to the economic steps of the American president, diplomacy that is not backed by military force is ineffective." .
According to the newspaper, the Israeli commentator added that "security interests with the Russians, no matter how important they are, are not Israel's strategic center of gravity," and that "the strategic alliance with the United States is much more important, also at painful costs."
A few days ago, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged Jews around the world to "raise their voice" after a Russian missile attack on the Kyiv TV tower.
"I am addressing all the Jews of the world now, don't you see what is happening? That is why it is so important that millions of Jews around the world do not remain silent now," said Zelensky, who is Jewish.
It is worth noting that the Israeli media quoted earlier the call of the Ukrainian embassy in Tel Aviv to participate in "defending Ukraine", and the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament called for holding a Russian-Ukrainian summit under Israeli auspices.
The Israeli media also quoted the Israeli Foreign Ministry's earlier concern about the situation in eastern Ukraine, declaring the occupation's readiness to mobilize for this.
Former Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid stated that "Israel will position itself alongside its traditional ally, the United States," but he indicated "the need to formulate a cautious stance toward Russia."
It is noteworthy that the Israeli political, security and military circles are following with interest and concern the developments between Russia and Ukraine, amid an Israeli belief that any military battle may become a huge event, with significant strategic consequences for Israel as well.
